Your very own website

As a broker for McCarthy’s, we’ll build you your very own custom-branded website.  It will feature your name and photo, as well as a custom phone number that is linked to your own phone number.  Leads from your site will come directly to you, allowing you to be in control, and you to get credit for the sales you make.

The website is a full-featured website, very similar to McCarthy’s website, and will update automatically each day with all of our available inventory, photos, and more. Plus you’ll have contact forms, credit apps, and all the tools that McCarthy’s website has to offer.

What is a broker?

Brokers are freelance representatives who are not on the dealership lot. They are independent agents who work for themselves. They help buyers find the right vehicle. McCarthy’s has a large and varied inventory, and brokers have access to it.

You’ll have a pro on hand for support

The needs of car buyers are constantly changing, and the available features are constantly increasing. It’s easy for prospective buyers to be overwhelmed by the new advancements in automotive technology, conveniences, and safety features.

As a broker, you will be paired with an agent who is an established full-time professional who shares what we know about vehicles in inventory.

You and your agent will team together to assist your customer in finding the right vehicle. What you don’t know about the inventory, or the process of buying a car, your agent will fill in the gaps. We operate on an information based approach. No hard selling

Your agent can answer questions about SUV towing capacity, turning radius, and other technical information. We use Carfax to document the vehicle’s history and maintenance records, and to make sure the title is clear.

How the program works

McCarthy Brokers are independent agents who refer prospective buyers to us.

You are your own boss

You’ll be working mobile: when you want and where you want.  Your task is to listen to the needs and expectations of prospective buyers and show them the large inventory of vehicles available on your website. When the prospect buys a car from us, you get $200.

The more you refer, the more you get

If you bring in more than five buyers (each month), we pay you $300 per car. If you bring in a person who sells us a car, you can make $200

How does the process work?
When your prospect is ready, you schedule an appointment to introduce them to your agent for a showing and test drive. Your agent takes over, and your part of the job is done.

Brokers do not get involved in questions about price and financing. Trade-ins and credit scores are handled by the professional team in McCarthy’s finance department. We have over 100 lenders to give your customers the payment options that are right for them.

McCarthy vehicles have all passed a 120-point mechanical and safety inspection by ASE-Certified mechanics and have a comprehensive 90-day bumper-to-bumper warranty. Some of our cars still have transferable factory warranties. If you customer is not happy, they can return the car to McCarthy’s.

Who can become a broker?
People who want extra income. People who know and like cars. Positive people with strong listening and communication skills. Optimistic people who are active in the community.

What are McCarthy’s Broker requirements?
You must be 18 or older. A California car sales license is required. It looks similar to a driver’s license and is held at the McCarthy’s lot. It takes one day to apply, costs about $100, and takes about a week for the background check to clear.

How do I get paid?
Affiliates are self-employed and their earnings are reported on form 1099. They are paid on the tenth of each month.
